Resident guide

A new home. Connected the right way.

Prepare the premises, choose a provider and understand the installation and activation process.

A new premises may need network termination equipment, internal pathways or a technician appointment before a retail service can be activated.

1. Check the service address

Confirm whether the premises is within a Lambda Networks service area. Use the complete street, lot and unit information supplied by the developer or builder.

2. Confirm the premises is fibre-ready

  • Power must be available where network equipment will be installed.
  • Internal conduit, draw wire, cabling and a suitable equipment location should be complete.
  • The installation area must be safe and accessible.
  • An authorised adult may need to be present for the appointment.

3. Choose a service provider

Your provider confirms the retail plan, any connection charge, required equipment and appointment details. The provider then places the wholesale order with Lambda Networks.

4. Connect your router

Once activation is complete, follow the provider's instructions for the correct network port, router settings and Wi-Fi setup. Contact the provider first if the service does not work as expected.

Building or cabling issue?

Where the premises is not fibre-ready, the builder, developer or an appropriately registered cabler may need to complete work before a network appointment can proceed.
